| Suunto T3c - The "New You" Watch |
|
You will both love and hate this watch. It makes you work harder, but you'll love the results. The new and improved T-series of training watches from Suunto make all other heart rate monitors cringe in terror and blush with envy. At the heart of the T3c's features is the new "comfort" heart rate monitor which you are guaranteed not to notice while busting face on the pavement or in the gym. You can also add the bike POD, GPS POD, pedometer, and team modules to this watch. It will be anything you want it to be. If you want performance data, this watch has it. Upon setup, the watch will take your age, weight, performance class, and activity type in order to establish some performance parameters that are customized for you. The watch uses this data to give you a Training Effect rating during and after each workout (1-5) 5 being an optimal workout and 1 being a better use of your time to stay at home and watch Desperate Sex In the City With House Wives (premiering this season!) The watch will also monitor and report the average heart rate for the workout, and for individual lap times, as well as the duration and the maximum heart rate. All of these metrics are combined with your personal data to give you your Training Effect. The watch saves about 30 workouts so you can monitor your progress and it will actually ask you to upgrade your performance class when it thinks you've taken your workouts to another level. The byproduct of this is the feeling that your new shiny watch actually hates you and wants you to pass out. You're constantly trying to beat your watch; which is unrealistic, impossible, and downright silly. The watch is on your side. Likes: The new interface is easy to use. The new colors are actually quite cool and you can wear this watch casually while secretly reviewing your workouts throughout the day in a frenzy of self gratification. The HR monitor sinks up super fast and never skips a beat. It's made of a very cool elasticy space material that adds to the bionic feeling you get when working out with it. Desires: I would love a feature that shows how many times the max HR was reached. A built in fan would also be nice to help cool off while reviewing performance data.
