| Arc'Teryx Beta LT Pants |
Arc'Teryx Beta LT PantLate one night in early September, myself and five other campers decided to spend the night in the woods with the intention of either climbing at Sam's Throne or paddling the Upper Richland Creek. Upon arriving in Arkansas, we found that the weather was getting increasingly wet and that the planned camping destination was gated off. That's right, Sam's Throne was gated off with a sign that stated the park was closed due to hurricane Ike. The rain quickly approached and we needed to establish camp as soon as possible. I had not seen my friends at Horseshoe Canyon in a while so we set off through unbelievably thick fog. Upon arrival, mother nature had unleashed Ikes furry. I put on my Arc'Teryx Beta LT pants, my abused prototype GoreTex jacket and headed into the hurricane. I was certain that the task of setting up the MSR Pavillion would be a daunting wet task. I even set up my Marmot Swallow in the madness. Once back inside the Pavillion, I sat to enjoy the company of friends and began to shed the rain gear. I was amazed that my body was completely dry. The Beta LT pant performed better than any rain pant I have ever worn. The breathability was second to none and the waterproofness was the same. On the fit side of things, the pant was extremely comfortable due to not only the ultralite 3 layer GoreTex Proshell, but also the cut of the pant. Articulated knees allowed for full coverage of my legs even while kneeling. A zippered fly made for very easy..........after a few weatherly cocktails. I could go on all day. To sum it up, I would recommend this pant to anyone who wants durable ultralight rain pants and can appreciate legendary Arc'Teryx quality. |
